The Portrait Studio

How does the studio work? What am I buying?

Step 1:

Your guests are welcomed into a professional photo studio that we bring to your event.

Step 2:

They are posed by an expert photographer and photographed looking their best.

Step 3:

The photos are edited in real-time, printed, matted, and handed to your guests in less than 90 seconds.

Step 4:

Guests take home stunning printed portraits and digital photos they can post online.

How many guests can you photograph per hour?

We can photograph between 60 and 90 guests per hour per studio. If we are doing more individual portraits, our capacity will be lower, if we are photographing more couples and groups, it will be higher.

How many studios can you operate at once? We have a REALLY big event.

We can operate up to 4x studios at once. We’ve photographed nearly 1500 guests in one night.

I am planning a more intimate event. What is your minimum?

We ask for a 2hr minimum on any event.

Logistics

What is the floor plan or footprint that you need?

We need approximately a 15ft by 15ft floor plan.

As a planner, what am I responsible for?

  • Posing furniture (see below)

  • 1x - 6 foot table + linen

  • 1x - chair

  • 2x - 30” hightop cocktail rounds

  • Power - 1x electrical circuit (15 amps)

What is the best furniture to select in order to create elegant poses for my guests?

We would LOVE 1x armchair and 2x bar stools. This gives us options to pose up to a dozen people.

Below, you can see a few examples of ideal furniture sets.

Can I rent a sofa or a couch for the studio set?

We do NOT recommend using sofas, chaise lounges, couches, ottomans, or other larger furniture pieces. They are hard to move, more expensive to rent, and limit the number of poses that we can do easily.

How much time do you need for load-in?

We typically ask to arrive 2.5 hours before you would like our studios to go “live.” We do not charge for load-in time. We only charge for the time that our team is photographing guests.

Can the studio pause during my dinner or programming?

Yes! We can start the studio for a cocktail hour, pause during dinner, and then start again for a reception or after-party. We do charge a wait fee to pay our team during their down time.

Deliverables

What do guests take home?

Guests will get printed portraits that are framed in white mats, PLUS they will be able to email themselves a digital copy of their photos via our onsite iPad.

Do I get an online gallery of all of the photos?

Yes! You will get an online gallery after the event, which will contain all of the digital photos. You can download the photos to your computer, share the gallery with guests, and order additional prints that are delivered to your door.

Can I add branding to my photos?

Yes! We offer the option to customize your mats with an embossed logo at the bottom of each mat. Learn more here.

How do I customize the studio set that my guests will be photographed in front of?

There are three options that will determine the background and the furniture that will be in your photos.

Option 1:

Use everything from your event. Lots of hotels and venues have beautiful decor, and we can use that as well as any furniture that they have to create a studio set

Option 2:

Use a rental company and let your creativity run wild! Rent a backdrop and furniture, and let your creativity run wild!

Option 3:

Rent a custom velvet backdrop and posing furniture from us. We have seven colors to choose from and two sets of furniture to customize your look. *Available only in SF/ Bay Area*

Booking

How do I book The Vanity Portrait Studio?

To secure your event date, we require a DocuSigned contract as well as a 50% deposit, which can be paid via Credit Card (with no additional fees), Check, or ACH.

How far in advance do you book?

We book up to 18 months in advance, however, we have limited availability based on our team.

Do you travel?

Yes, we travel all over the country and internationally, too! For each studio that is booked, we will bring a team of 3x people.

Do you offer other photography services? I don't want to book another photography vendor.

Yes! We can also provide you with event photographers or a team to capture professional and fresh new headshots.
